CONCERTS BY DATE - LOS ANGELES COUNTY This page lists concerts by date for cities in Los Angeles County. You may view the schedules by scrolling down the page or by clicking a date below. Photo credit: Port of Los Angeles In keeping with the theme, "METAMORPHOSES," photographs and art this year will reflect various aspects of change, especially the type of change which is in some way transformative for the people, places or subjects it affects. In the Los Angeles County By Date Section, the pictures all depict various aspects of the Port of Los Angeles (San Pedro/Wilmington). Every year in May during World Trade Week there are free boat tours of the port. I took many of these photos during this year's tours, which started from both Ports O' Call Village in San Pedro and the Banning's Landing Community Center in Wilmington. Last year the port celebrated its 100th birthday, and the changes which have taken place in the area in those 100 years are truly astounding. The photo above shows the port lumberdocks in the late 1800s. According to port statistics, in 1907 the port handled $2 million worth of cargo and the top trading partner was the Pacific Northwest region of the United States . . .
