ALHAMBRA

September 12 - Alhambra Performing Arts Center Programs. The Alhambra Performing Arts Center will present "Flamenco Alhambra" at 7 p.m. at the Sage Granada Park United Methodist Church, 1850 W. Hellman Avenue. The show will feature flamenco dancer Inestia and her troupe. She will perform several dances backed by flamenco singers from Spain, plus there will be male and female soloists and a musical interlude of piano and guitar flamenco music. September 19 - Alhambra Library Children's Programs. Concerts on Canon The City of Beverly Hills presents the 2015 season of Concerts on Canon. Concerts take place from 6 - 6:45 p.m. and 7:15 - 8 p.m. at the Beverly Canon Gardens, 241 N. September 12 and 13 - Covina Swing Band Festival. The seventh annual Covina Swing Band Festival will take place Saturday and Sunday from 2 - 8 p.m. in the bandshell at Covina Park, 301 N. Fourth Street (between San Bernardino Road and Badillo Street). Each day will feature five swing/big bands performing a one-hour set. Saturday bands will be Twist of Orange (Covina Concert Band Swing Band), Midnight Sun, LAPD Swing Band, Palminteri and the Big Band, and the Sozo Jazz Band. Sunday bands will be the Verdugo Swing Society Big Band, the Harmony Sisters and their Little Big Band, the Gem City Jazzcats Big Band, City Beat (Classic Tunes, 50s to present) and the Tuxedo Junction Orchestra. Some seating is provided, or bring your own chair/blanket, and there will be room for dancing. The festival is sponsored by the Covina Concert Band. September 27 - sound. at the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook.. sound. at the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook is a free public concert featuring the premiere of a site-specific work created by composer and Fluxus artist Yoshi Wada and his son composer Tashi Wada. The program will take place from 5 p.m. - sunset at the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook, 6300 Hetzler Road.
