LOS ANGELES (U.S.C. VICINITY) - NFL OPENING KICKOFF CONCERT. Multi-platinum recording artists Good Charlotte and 17-year-old pop singer Rihanna will join Maroon 5 and Kanye West for a free concert at the site of the NFL's first Super Bowl - the Los Angeles Coliseum - as a part of the NFL Opening Kickoff presented by Sprint. There will also be video footage from the Rolling Stones "A Bigger Bang" world tour. The concert will take place outside the Coliseum. Gates will open at 2:30 p.m. and music and festivities will run through 6 p.m. Also participating will be 24 NFL greats including Marcus Allen and pro football Hall-of-Famers plus the USC Marching Band. CERRITOS - PATRIOT DAY REMEMBRANCE CEREMONY AND PATRIOTIC CONCERT. The City of Cerritos will host a special Remembrance Ceremony and Patriotic Concert in honor of the victims and heroes involved in the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. The Alchemy Handbell Ensemble, led by Boude Moore, returns to perform in the newly-renovated Barnsdall Gallery Theater. The ringing of bronze-cast bells tuned to different pitches offers intricate melodic patterns and tones reminiscent of the sweet pure sounds of English church tower bells.
