The site's poetry section had its origins in a book of poetry and travel photographs Dorothy completed called "Journeys, Destinations, Routes." Some poems on the site over the years have been drawn from the book. In more recent years, most poems have been written to accompany the summer theme. The summer theme in 2024 was "A 'Perfect' World (As Seen by AI)." In many years the poetry section has included the works of a Guest Poet.
