2024 GUEST POET - CARRIED OVER FROM SUMMER '24 Over the course of summer 2024, the site explored the theme "A Perfect World (As Seen by AI)," looking at the output of AI image generators and various related aspects of generative AI (artificial intelligence). However, one thing was missing - generative AI text. So in keeping with the theme, the 2024 Guest Poet was ChatGPT by Open AI. [PLEASE NOTE: Since many of the summer poems were themed to/accompanied by images generated by AI text-to-image generators, those images will remain on the poetry pages.] The archived edition of the Summer '24 site can be viewed from the link on the "Site Book" page or by going to www.dorothyswebsite.org/2024index.html.
During the course of the year I, like most of you, have many different things traveling through my email inbox. This spring I came across and downloaded a report on generative AI titled "2024 Generative AI Predictions." The report was published by the firm CB Insights, a firm which provides industry research and market reports/intelligence. (www.cbinsights.com) The report had several interesting slides, and ChatGPT was asked to comment on some of the slides. The first poem listed below is ChatGPT's interpretation of the theme "A Perfect World" as both a regular poem and as a haiku. The other four poems are ChatGPT's interpretation, in poetry form, of data included on a few slides from the report cited above. Click on any images below to reach the Guest Poet's poems.
