The 5th Annual Festival of Children is a month-long celebration of the wonders of childhood with celebrity appearances, music and dance performances, activities and workshops. Events take place September 2 - 30, Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30 or noon until 5 p.m., in the Carousel and Jewel Courts of South Coast Plaza. The City of Laguna Niguel will hold a commemorative event to honor those who lost their lives in the 9-11 terrorist attacks and to recognize the efforts of the police and fire departments. FULLERTON - 23RD ANNUAL CONCERT UNDER THE STARS. Cal State Fullerton's musical theater students will perform "With a Song in My Heart: The Music of Richard Rogers." There will be selections from The Sound of Music, Carousel, Oklahoma and more, and the evening will conclude with fireworks. Concert is at 7:30 p.m. on the lawn north of the Titan Gymnasium.
