PANTOUM/DINNER ON NEW YEAR'S EVE

I lick Pacific saltwater from my fingers
feel it seasoning my veins,
throw pink Himalayan sea salt
into a pan of yukon golds,

feel this seasoning of veins
warm the cauldron of a winter heart
as I pan for the gold
of the old year's days,

the warmth from the cauldron of this winter heart
spiced anew with pepper and honey
of the old year's days
now lights my Newgrange cave

spiced anew with pepper and honey
grown pink from Himalayan sea salt
that lights my Newgrange cave
as I lick Pacific saltwater from my fingers.
