September 15 and 16 - Mexican Independence Day Celebration in Downtown Anaheim. Event presented by Sonido KWIZ 96.7 will take place in Downtown Anaheim at Center Street Promenade and Lemon Street (south of Lincoln and east of Harbor Blvd). Details TBA. Evening event is co-sponsored by the Downtown Anaheim Business Association and Harley-Davidson of Anaheim/Fullerton. Harley Davidson and other motorcycle riders, as well as the public, are invited to head to Downtown Anaheim for a night of live music, a beer and wine garden and street fair. Brea Jazz Festival - Concerts are every Friday and Saturday night in September beginning September 7. September 30 - Community Arts Festival at the Orange County Performing Arts Center. Birsic DANA POINT AND DANA POINT HARBOR September 8 and 9 - Toshiba Tallships Festival - The Ocean Institute celebrates its 23rd year hosting the largest gathering of tallships on the West Coast. The festival will feature an array of family activities including live chantey music, art shows, living history demonstrations, and food vendors. Also maritime displays and presentations, Polynesian dancers, interactive pirate encampment and cannon battles. Grass Park activities, Chantey concerts, arts and crafts show, pirate and living history encampments and vendor area are free. Fees for entry to Ocean Education Center, Tallship tours and cruises. In conjunction with the University's 50th Anniversary Open House, this kaleidoscopic, fast-paced, hour-long program will highlight the department's large choral and instrumental ensembles, chamber groups, solo pianists and combos in a variety of performances. Performers include the Jazz Ensemble I, the University Singers, the CSUF Symphony Orchestra, University Wind Symphony and more. Tuesday Nights - Huntington Beach Surf City Nights. Event is from 5 - 9 p.m. on Main Street (between Pacific Coast Highway and Orange Avenue). There will be street entertainers/live performances, an organic farmers market, food booths, activities for children, sidewalk sales by area merchants and more. September 15 & 16 - Downtown Huntington Beach Surf and Art Walk. First event ever in which the first through third blocks of Main Street (downtown) will be closed for the weekend. Event will feature two days of live surf music, surf exhibits and the screening of the movie "Step into Liquid," children's activities, custom-built Harleys and more. Features live entertainment from local cultural organizations, and it will include a closing performance by South African contemporary rock group Just Jinjer. September 8 - Third Annual Coddington Foundation Car Show. The City of Laguna Niguel will hold a 9/11 Remembrance Concert to pay tribute to those who lost their lives, were injured, or suffered loss of family or friends in the tragic event. The event will also pay respect to the members of the military and local law enforcement and fire personnel who keep the community safe on a daily basis. The event will take place in the Crown Vally Community Park amphitheater, 29751 Crown Valley Parkway, beginning at 6:30 p.m. It will include speakers, an American troubador show by musician/guitarist Kim Olson, and a candlelight vigil.
